			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Yes!  You can grow an avacado tree from the pit.  Clean the pit by rinsing it under running warm water.  Rub gently.  Suspend the pit, pointed end down into water in a glass.  Use 3 tooth picks gently inserted into the pit to hold it halfway into the water.  It will take plenty of patience at this point, as it may take weeks for it to develope a root.<br />
After the root is at least a couple inches long, you can plant it into good potting soil and watch it grow into a beautiful avacado tree.<br />
It does well with a little nitrogen fertilizer from time to time, but only after it has been activly growing for awhile.<br />
