I have about 1/2 acre of pasture in the NE United States region which I want to plant with some type of fruit-the problem is that this area sometimes gets very wet. Does anyone know what I could successfully plant there, I want something that will be easy to get started and will survive the extremely cold wind and snow we get in the winter months. I don’t know much about blueberries or raspberries- can you make a suggestion. thanks.

Palm Springs is just too hot and dry to grow them in a landscape setting. Fruit trees such as these need a period of cold weather (temps in the 30′s or below) for a time before they will produce flowers and fruit.
I’d look for fruit trees that can tolerate the conditions, like figs or date palms, or even a citrus tree. Good Luck!

I am from New Zealand and would greatly appreciate what fruit tree that I could grow. The area is in my backyard with a great big pine tree soaring over where the soil is blocking out quite a lot of sun ( although a few rays manage to get through during the day). Previously in this spot I had grown an apple tree but that is completely dead now so I am hoping for some advice in to what would be a suitable fruit tree for this sort of area in a garden. Thanks for your help!
