What Vegetables Grow In The Autumn?

Posted by admin on January 20, 2010

I want to grow some kind of vegetable, but according to my mom, autumn is the time people harvest their crops and you cant grow anything in autumn. I know that where i live depends on what you can grow, i live in northern california. could you give me like a list of vegetables that can grow in autumn or a website with a list and stuff. thanks

broccoli, beetroot, lettuce, are ideal. try others , but if you get severe winters , start a compost heap on top of the soil

Many vegetables you plant in spring grow in the fall too. Probably too late for potatoes, but try spinach, lettuce, beets, radishes, carrots, peas. I have all of those growing in my garden in northern Oklahoma. They will all stand frosts and even moderate freezes.

Parsnips pretty sure you plant them in the fall and dig them up in the spring.
