I would like to know because I am doing a project at school which involves us making a vegie patch and our vegies are dieing

   start a compost, no meats or oils, grass clippings, vegie scraps, dry leaves plus blood and bone to heat up the pile , the days of getting manures, chicken manure are gone as housing has taken over the farmlands,
   stir the contents every couple of days, keep moist , not real wet, use a bin
