    depends on where you live. some farmers still make a living that way.

    there is a huge growing market for organic foods in canada. So if you go into this speciality you can grow vegetables and fruits and make a good profit on them. It all depends on the size of your operation. My grandmother made a lot of money by selling from a garden of only 2 acres because people value fresh,clean, and pesticide free vegetables where i live.
    another tip i could offer is to grow something that is in high demand and low production. So try and find out which fruits or vegetables are usualy expensive because there are few producers and you will find your niche! good luck
