What Is The Corrrect Way To Water And Grow Herb Plants?

My mother just gave me a planter with 3 herbs in it for easter on Sunday. My Basil is already dying, what is the correct way to raise these plants?

   They should be in full sun. Not sure where you live but it should not freeze. Depending upon the size of the container, you may need to water each morning and evening. The source below has basil plants for sale if yours does not come back. Good luck!
