How Can I Grow Herbs For Tea In My Own House?

Posted by admin on February 9, 2010

All I want to do is get a hold of some of the seeds you need for some nice caffene free herbal teas like cammomile or mint or fennel sead and grow them in my laundry room so I can mix some of my own blends.

mint grows in my father’s garden. It propagates so much that it’s almost weed-like. I think it would be very easy to grow for an herbal tea. Just know that there are serveral different types of mint. go for it!

I suggest going to your local department store and purchasing the “Chia Herb Garden”. It comes with 4-6 small pots, 4-6 packets of seeds, and 4-6 sponges to root the seeds in. 2 of the herbs included are mint and lemon mint. Also included is cat-mint, which believe it or not makes a superb tea. My father bought me this for Christmas last year, and to this day, I am STILL growing herbs off of the same seeds! Whenever you trim them or prune them for your tea or to cook with, they grow right back. Also included in the kit is Cilantro, Sweet Basil, Chives, Parsley, and Marjoram. You will not believe the difference that fresh herbs make when you cook with them! It’s much healthier than condensed spices, and so much more flavorful! And if you can sit them in your windowsill, they add a wonderful decor to your kitchen! Hope this helps!
