Dwarf fruit trees will do well in large pots and tubs.
Dwarf orange, lemon, lime, any dwarf citrus.

believe it or not we managed to grow orange trees in doors in Glasgow, they were the only ones to survive and grew to about 4 or 5 feet before falling over they looked great and were a talking point for all our parties. The kids thought they nwere fantastic too. We grew them from pips from tangerines amazing stuff

Many nurseries sell extreme dwarf fruit trees today. Apple, peach, etc. They have been cross-bred to be especially suited to growing in large patio pots, to enable you to move them indoors in the winter. They still grow full-sized fruit. (They are still cold sensitive, also). Just Google seed catalogs, and you will get many online references.
