Here is a pictorial list of fruits grown in Okinawa. http://www.okinawa-fruit.com/
Some fruits which originated in South America, pineapple, pitaya, papaya, guava and passion fruit, grow in Okinawa.
But I’ve never heard quenepas or ginep. What is that?

“Really tropical” not really. It’s freezing here and it has been raining for like three days straight.
They aren’t called quenepas, they are called mamones (mamón), if you are a Spanish-speaker, that is what you would call them. They are only grown in tropical America. Panamá is further south than Okinawa.
I have not seen them around in the supermarket, nor does the commissary on Kadena carry them.
